The Bradenton Area Offers Something for Everyone

With 51 parks, miles of beaches and plentiful state-of-the art facilities for fitness, such as G.T. Bray Recreation Center Premier Sports Campus,  visitors and residents can find almost every type of recreation from deep-sea fishing and scuba diving in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico to ice skating and hockey at the Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex.

Skate parks accommodate the kids, and numerous nature preserves like the 487-acre Robinson Preserve are great for hiking, biking, kayaking and canoeing.  In Lakewood Ranch, enjoy polo as a spectator or as a participant. In the 556-acre Lake Manatee State Park and Myakka River State Park, one of Florida’s oldest and largest parks, visitors can view Florida’s ecosystems on foot, bike, car, boat, horse. Nearby, in Myakka City, explore the treetop view on a zip line.

The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) has named Coquina Beach one of 35 superstar beaches in the United States after several years of stellar water quality results.
